Get to Know Me

Exceeding Expectations One Patient at a Time

I truly believe in the Old English proverb “You can only take people as far as you have gone.” Some of the life experiences I have had that allow me to be able to better relate to my clients include being a person in recovery as well as grieving the loss of my brother.  I have sought ways to bring about the most profound healing and growth in my own life. My own healing journey has led me to find many different skills which I use with each and every client. I believe that some of the top issues that we struggle with include toxic shame and codependency.  I am a client-centered therapist who takes a nonjudgmental stance. I want you to feel safe and supported throughout this process. I would like to assist you in finding your identity, purpose, and belonging. One of the tools that I draw from in my therapy practice includes the Enneagram. The Enneagram is a spiritual growth tool that helps one discover more about one’s personality including core emotional motivations and fears. Another element in my practice is the understanding of highly sensitive people. A highly sensitive person tends to process things more deeply, such as cues, emotions, and experiences.

I received my bachelor’s in psychology from Southern Methodist University. Since graduating from Tulane University School of Social Work in 2014, I have worked in both inpatient and outpatient treatment clinics. Some of the areas of focus during my career have been substance abuse, codependency, grief, ADHD, and trauma. I have always been interested in learning, which has translated into my being trained in numerous, cutting edge therapeutic modalities. These include EMDR, Brainspotting, and Post-induction therapy. I believe that each person is capable of making great change, and I enjoy helping clients bring out different dimensions and capabilities that had not been utilized previously.  My favorite part of therapy is when the “shift” happens and something that was once so difficult for a client, becomes second-nature. I truly care for all of my clients, and work diligently to help find them the answers they seek.
