All About Therapy

Congratulations on taking the first step in your healing journey toward lasting change. I specifically tailor my therapeutic services to the individual, but some of the modalities that I draw from include EMDR and Brainspotting, which are trauma-focused therapies. I have found that both of these styles bring about the best results in the shortest amount of time. Essentially, they get to the root of the issue instead of just treating the symptoms. Each of them are specifically geared toward allowing your brain to heal itself. If you have been “stuck” and unable to move forward with life as you would like, these therapeutic techniques will give you the tools you need to grow and heal.

As a therapist, I enjoy drawing from your strengths but also looking at shedding what no longer serves you. There are many types of trauma and abuse which may have led to conditioned thinking and repeating detrimental patterns in your life. I would like to help you work toward letting go of anything getting in the way of becoming your best self.

Area of Specialty

Codependency is one of my areas of focus, which is rooted in childhood relational trauma. Recovery from codependency includes discovering your authentic self, letting go of shame, and acting in line with your true self. Toxic shame can be very damaging in daily life. According to Darlene Lancer, “shame destroys our dreams and stifles our talents, and as much as we want to love and to be loved, it sabotages our relationships….Healing shame is powerful medicine.” Another therapy modality that I have been trained in to specifically work with letting go of shame and healing from relational trauma is Post-induction therapy, which was developed by Pia Mellody. Post-induction therapy is essentially a “shame detox.”  If any of this applies to you, I believe we can do wonderful work together as a team to assist you in realizing your goals.
